Hey, and thanks for saying yes .
You're here because you've expressed interest in being an early adopter and beta playtester of ficus.io.
I'm Alexey, based in Copenhagen, and I've been building software for about 15 years. I co-founded resume.io a while back, scaled it to millions of users and it eventually got acquired. In my core, I am a builder: I absolutely love creating web apps. I have just started working on my new startup — a vibe-coding tool for making multiplayer apps called ficus.io.
What Ficus is
With Ficus, you can build small one-page apps by chatting with an AI. You type what you want, it writes the code, and then you can use the app during meetings or presentations. If you've ever used Kahoot or Mentimeter, it's very similar, but you can create literally anything with just a prompt.
Most people using it so far are speakers, teachers, and event hosts. They want the audience to actually do something during a talk or a workshop (polls, quizzes, drawing boards), then display it on a big screen or projector or by sharing their screen in Zoom. Then people connect to the app using a QR code and collaborate live.
for example, I was presenting in Paris and made a collaborative drum machine — 20 people were connected at the same time
It's not limited to just polls though! You can create multiplayer games, fun team building exercises and more. The problem is that my users often struggle generating ideas and I can't get valuable feedback, and that's why I contacted you — someone very creative to push the boundaries of the app.
I launched the beta about 4 weeks ago. It's been used at a few real events already. Some went well, some broke in weird ways. It's early, and that's kind of the whole point.
What I want from you
- Go sign in here, play around, try to build something. Try to figure out the limitations, what AI is good and bad at. Think what you'd want to build if you were presenting or having a party with friends. There's no brief, build whatever you want, the weirder the better.
- After you're done testing, please fill out this short form with your feedback, or feel free to message me at molefrog@gmail.com or +45 51 42 40 47.
After
I've got some ideas on what we can do next. We can meet up in Copenhagen and try your thing live with real people in the room. Coffee is on me.
Two, if you're okay with it, I'll put your widget on ficus.io as a template with your name and a link to your portfolio, so others can remix it.
Neither of these is mandatory. You can also just poke around and tell me what you think.
Things you might be wondering
What if I make something bad?
You won't, and if you do, that's the most useful data I can get.
Do I need to know how to code?
No.
What if I break it?
Please do, and tell me exactly how.
When is it "done"?
Whenever you say so.
